So we caught a bus to DC. A bit scarred of the suburbs we got out at the bus station. We’ve been amazed of the first persons being nice and taking care of us. “Can I Help You?” “Where do you wonna go? I show you!” We don’t prejudice people, but maybe in NY people are too busy on the streets to show their neatness. When we arrived at our hostel we also felt like at home. It was fun getting out with so many nationalities all over the world. Also a great nightlife! Had a great time!
During the day we did several day trips, visiting plenty of historical and political sites: Bowing of the Lincoln Statue, looking at the Washington Monument where Martin Luther King got his speech “I have a dream …”, World War Monument, Capitol and also the White House (aside from whom is sitting in there now …). It was Cherry Blossom time, so we could enjoy the spring in every park and nearly in many streets. One guy recommended us an Austrian restaurant. Just kidding! It was good, but not an original Austrian Schnitzel! 😉
We’ve to mention: DC got so many great museums (Air & Space we can mostly recommend) and most of them are free, even the zoo! So when you get there: Catch them! Even when you get too bored … J This cultural dosage will last for month!
